The Bhagvad Gita

The Bhagavad Gita

The Gita is a set of dialogue between Pandava prince Arjuna and his charioteer Krishna. At the start of the dharma yudhh between Pandavas and Kauravas, Arjuna is filled with dilemmas and despair about the violence and death the war will cause against his own kin. He even wonders if he should renounce! He seeks Krishna's guidance, whose answers and discourse constitute the Bhagavad Gita. Krishna counsels Arjuna to "fulfill his Kshatriya duty to uphold the Dharma" through "selfless action". In other words, do the karma and leave the result to Him. The Bhagavad Gita covers a broad range of spiritual topics, touching upon ethical dilemmas and issues that go far beyond the war that Arjuna is set to face.
